Water & Electricity
Most communities have running water but not in the family homes. The women will collect water from a communal standpipe and carry it home in containers balanced on their heads.
The washing of clothes commonly takes place at communal washing places or on the banks of a local river or stream. Some homes have pelas (outside sinks), where clothes are hand-washed and air-dried.
Villages usually have access to electricity, but many families cannot afford it. Electronic appliances are becoming more apparent in the communities.
