Support SOS Directly from your IRA

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) can benefit you and Sending Out Servants!

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.
— Acts 20:35

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

An IRA qualified charitable distribution is an opportunity to satisfy ALL or part of your required minimum distribution!

What is it?

If you are 70 1/2 or older a QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met.

What are my BENEFITS?

  • Your generosity helps strengthen our mission!

  • Avoids income tax on your RMD by donating directly to SOS.

  • Excludes up to $100,000 of your donation from your Adjusted Gross Income.

  • NOTE: QCD is usually not a tax deduction. It could lower your taxes by lowering your overall adjusted annual income.

How do I donate?

  1. You must be 70 1/2 or older to make any IRA donation to SOS.

  2. Choose how much to give! You can give up to $100,000 from your Traditional or Roth IRA.

  3. Inform your account manager you wish to make an IRA contribution and complete the SOS QCD Form. Send the completed Form to your account manager.

  4. Return a copy of the completed SOS QCD Form to Andy Dommert (andy@sendingoutservants.org), Executive Director, or Sending Out Servants, PO Box 11293, Spring, TX 77391

For a QCD to count towards your current year’s RMD, the Funds must come out of your IRA by your RMD deadline,
generally December 31.

Please contact the administrator of your IRA or your financial advisor with any tax or account-specific questions.
