Tropical Climate

• The Rain Season is from May to October.

• In the Highlands, there could be as much as 80 inches of rain. After the first rain of the season in May, the Maya will plant their corn. Lack of rain will mean lack of food for the Maya.

• Temperatures vary depending on the altitude and nearness to the coast.

• S.O.S. mission locations are in the 6500 ft. elevation range where the temperature range is between 75–85 F during the day, with nights ranging 45-55 F. Because buildings are not heated, it is wise to bring some warm clothes to layer for cool evenings and early mornings.
